Fangkuai has stepped in to provide the world's largest compressed air energy storage project under construction!

Recently, Fangkuai successfully installed two 10-ton electrode micro-pressure phase change hot water boilers for the Ulanqab compressed air energy storage project in Inner Mongolia.

A Global First, of Extraordinary Significance

The Ulanqab compressed air energy storage project, jointly invested by China Railway Construction Development Group and Inner Mongolia Yousai Technology with nearly 10 billion yuan, boasts a total installed capacity of 1.05 million kilowatts and energy storage of 6.3 million kilowatt-hours, making it the world's largest project of its kind under construction. It utilizes deep-ground artificial chamber gas storage technology with a volume of nearly one million cubic meters. It will generate approximately 2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, enhancing the absorption of new energy sources and strengthening peak-shaving guarantees for the North China power grid. In this world-class benchmark project, Fangkuai provided two 10-ton electrode micro-pressure phase change hot water boilers, one of Fangkuai's core boiler products, which differ from electrode hot water boilers.

Higher Output Water Temperature

The boilers produce hot water at a higher temperature, approximately 20°C higher than that supplied by atmospheric pressure hot water boilers, reaching up to 110°C.
Small footprint: No need for on-site installation of circulating pumps and heat exchanger piping, resulting in less installation work and a smaller footprint.
Environmentally friendly: The boiler water is in a closed environment, preventing environmental pollution and ensuring more stable operation.
Notably, Fangkuai electrode boilers can directly utilize off-peak and green electricity, operating in synergy with thermal storage systems, waste heat recovery, and intelligent scheduling—a perfect match for the core requirements of compressed air energy storage projects: peak shaving and valley filling, and smoothing the output of new energy sources, achieving perfect synergy between energy storage and heating.
A clear future: From the snowy plains of northern China to major national projects, Fangkuai has consistently practiced its green development mission with cutting-edge technology. This time, leaving its mark on the world's largest compressed air energy storage project is an honor, but also a responsibility. Fangkuai will continue to deepen its expertise in clean energy equipment, leveraging more synergistic scenarios of "green electricity + energy storage + heating," contributing Fangkuai's wisdom and solutions to the energy transition in China and globally.
